I have been invited to an Indian wedding and am not sure what to expect. I have been to a lot of smart London weddings lately with everyone showing off in designer dresses and I have felt rather out of place because I do not have the money for that sort of outfit. I am therefore hoping that this might be something very different and I will be consulting with the bride to find out what is the appropriate thing to wear and behave on the day. She has promised that she will give wedding programs to the people who have not been to this sort of wedding before so that we are prepared. She understands that we may be a little daunted and worried by the idea of it and so she is making sure we are all prepared for what will happen. Not that there is anything scary but it will just be nice to know how long things last and whether there are special things we have to say and do. I am really looking forward to it as it will be something very different to experience and I feel honoured that my friend has chosen me to attend as she has a very small guest list.
